About Us
The Short Hills Public Speaking group, founded by Vathsaal Madhusudan, Aditya Mittal, Zain Jaffar and Kunaal Chatterjee, is an international Student-Led Organization established in Short Hills, New Jersey.
In modern-day society, the rigid walls between urban and rural areas are still strong and standing. While urban areas have access to multiple opportunities and extracurriculars, rural communities have minimal options. This pattern is evident in developing nations. Our goal is to attempt to allow children in rural areas throughout the globe to enjoy extracurricular activities and provide them with the chance to compete.
The organization, alongside schools, provides students with courses on activities that interest them. These choices provided include English, Debate, and Public Speaking. The group provides the schools with translators if required. Following the course completion, SHPS organizes an event for the students. The said event provides the students with the opportunity to compete and a chance to progress. All courses and events organized by the SHPS will be without cost.
SHPS is committed to training the future of the world. 39.12 percent of the global population resides in rural areas. The group is trying its best to ensure true equality for these communities. Every contribution is a step towards this goal.

Courses Offered
English
The curriculum for the following extracurricular varies depending on the grade and level of English the school provides. The organization works to enhance the students speaking and writing skills. English is an essential skill in modern-day society, and we work on strengthening this skill for students where it isn’t the primary language.
Debate
A forum for formal discussion designed to argue a specific side. Students get the opportunity to argue their viewpoints formally. The course enhances an individual’s argumentative skills. The following extracurricular will help build a student’s self confidence, and provide them with the much needed opportunity to compete professionally.
Public Speaking
Public Speaking is necessary for every individual to succeed in communicating their ideas to a group of people. The course will help sharpen a student’s ability to communicate to an audience. Expressing an opinion on a specific topic to a group of people is an essential skill to enhance. Individual feedback will effectively ensure students comprehend the lessons they are presented. Students will be allowed to compete and display the skill learned after completing the extracurricular course.
Chess
Chess is a complex game based on the strategies of war, seemingly simple at first, but playing it quickly reveals the intricacies and complexities of the game. Learning chess from a young age can help with the development of the brains, wits, and quick thinking of children as they grow. Our course has award winning chess players who can teach anywhere from the fundamentals to the advanced strategies of chess.
